On the other hand,Hanau silversmiths used Loth standard alongside their pseudo marks and Tremmolierstich on silver made in late 19th and early 20th century. Although I have seen some pieces from other countries stamped with SU, an "SU" stamped on a sterling silver piece of jewelry usually means it is from Italy. "SU" can be by itself, within a circle or with 925. (for 925 parts 1000 silver, ie sterling)

24 Jun 2011 I noticed a local craft store sells 925 sterling silver for jewelry design. The brand is Cousin and each small pack sells for $3.99, each medium 

Real silver does tarnish, but if it has more of the other metals in it than silver it will tarnish faster. Silver is supposed to have a stamp on it, .925 to be considered
